Pet Eye Care

Commonwealth Veterinary Hospital offers a variety of effective treatments for common eye issues, including dry eye and corneal ulcers. Furthermore, we have state-of-the-art diagnostic equipment for more serious conditions. Our Tonopen can quickly, accurately and painlessly measure your pet's intraocular pressure, helping us to identify common ocular problems such as uveitis and glaucoma.

CVH also offers ocular laser surgery, most commonly for the treatment of distichiae. Distichiae are extra eyelashes growing on the eyelid margin. These extra lashes rub the cornea, creating discomfort for the animal and causing the eye to tear. Laser surgery is more effective and less painful than other options for the treatment of this condition. In addition to treating distichiae, our laser surgery unit can be used to remove eyelid tumors or cysts.
